Friday = Lions + a trip to the ER. Unrelated.

The Pre-K made their annual pilgramage to the Austin Zoo last Friday which is the only zoo I have ever been to where you can get within arms reach(nearly) of most of the animals.  Because of this, they have signs up surrounding the Lion enclosure that say, "WARNING: Cats may try to spray visitors.  Stand back."  This is the adventure that awaits you, should you decide to visit. Be warned.
Friday night was decidedly less fun and included our first ride in an ambulance.  We were awoken in the middle of the night to the sounds of Jasper struggling to breathe and immediately called his doctor who advised us to call 911. What had been a minor cold on Friday during the day, developed into croup over night.  Scary stuff, but after a breathing treatment and some steroids, we were sent back home and all is mostly well.  It totally freaks me out that every time Jasper gets a cold (which seems like a nearly constant thing), it turns into something more serious... I'll be glad to be done with this day care business for awhile and hope that all of this just means that he will have developed a rock star immune system.
Happier times:
