A real live adult.

I mentioned before that Curtis and I are going to have to move before the baby comes, the good news we got this week is that its looking like it will be into our very own house! We have a real estate agent and everything. That, almost more so than the baby (only because I've had 7 months to get used to THAT idea), is so surreal and grown up to me. The two in combination? Parents and home owners?? Get outta here. Finally my wrinkles make sense. It is a strange thing getting older. Not bad, just weird. I am an adult (that makes me giggle). Curtis is too (that makes me giggle harder).

Curtis took a day off of work this week to accompany my class to the Austin Zoo. He came to school with me in the morning, my day starts officially at 7:30, usually about the time he gets up. At 8:30, after 1 hour with the kids, he looked at the clock and said in horror, "Its only 8:30! It feels like noon!" He was an absolute lifesaver though, especially since I had one of my parent chaperones cancel last minute. We had a fun day, the kids were EXHAUSTED by the time we left and so was Curtis. He came home and napped until it was time to pick me up. The Austin Zoo is kind of sad, in the way that all zoos are sad, but it is not your traditional zoo... they do rehab there and many of the animals are there because they were rescued from bad situations or injured in some way. We saw some chubby blind leopards, a neutered lion, and got to pet some pushy goats. The little girls in the reg. Pre-K class that I work with everyday were positively enamored with Curtis and thought it was HILARIOUS that he was my husband and that we were sitting next to each other on the bus. Every time we looked to our right we saw this:
And had to field questions like, "Do you kiss each other?"

My class size stayed steady at 8 this week... gained one and lost one. One of my boys is homeless and he just stopped showing up, found out that they are back on the road, looking for a place to land. Been sending all the positive thoughts I have towards his family this week, for his sake. And the new guy who I thought might be too "delicate" to hold his own? He has proven to be a tough little nut as well, very sweet (has the funniest little munchkin voice) but does not take any guff from the loud, aggressive boys in my class.

We are headed out to look at houses (just the outsides and neighborhoods, our realtor had to attend a funeral today) so I might add some pictures to this later of them.

ALSO- switched doctors this week, LOVE the new clinic, feel much more confident about the whole thing. Had my appointment on Monday and they made me come back ASAP for a second ultrasound because my belly was "measuring large". So had an ultrasound yesterday and they had me set up my next appointment in two weeks as opposed to a month. No final word yet, but Baby J. is large and healthy. YAY!

so? do you kiss each other?

(clearly that child has not had the "where babies come from" talk.)

And a house? You're steadily moving into the position of someone else i'll be jealous of…
